JetBlue price dropped after you booked

If the price of your exact JetBlue flights goes down, you can change your trip to the same flights at today’s fare in Manage trips. JetBlue puts the difference in your JetBlue travel credit account. It doesn’t go back to your card.

JetBlue’s Best Fare Guarantee is something else: it means you can cancel for a full refund within 24 hours of booking, if the flight is at least 7 days away.

Steps checked against JetBlue’s own help pages on October 22, 2026.

The steps

Change to the same flights at today’s fare. JetBlue gives the difference back as travel credit.

  1. 1
Open your tripGo to Manage trips at jetblue.com or in the JetBlue app and open your trip. Online is free; by phone or chat JetBlue charges $25 per person.
  2. 2
Choose to change your flights and pick the same flightsSame dates, same flight numbers. The difference shows before you confirm.
  3. 3
ConfirmThe difference goes into your JetBlue travel credit account by itself.
  4. 4
Check your seatsOpen your trip afterwards and choose your seats again if they’ve moved.
What you get back

The difference, per passenger as JetBlue travel credit. It has to be used to book by 12 months from the day you bought the original ticket.

If they push back, or the site won’t show your same flights, call 1-800-538-2583 and ask them to reprice your ticket to today’s lower fare on the exact same flights, same dates and same times, with the difference as JetBlue travel credit. Ask them to waive the $25 phone fee.

Good to know

  • Base fares cost $150 per person to change, on every route and even with Mosaic status. Only worth it if the price fell by more than that.
  • Blue Basic tickets bought on or before July 29, 2026 can’t be changed.
  • Travel credit can’t be moved back to your card.
  • Paid for an EvenMore seat? Check it after the change and pick it again if it moved.
  • The difference usually comes back as airline credit, not cash. Check the expiry date on it; most last about a year.
  • Repricing can lower the status credit you earn on this trip, because some airlines count what you paid.
  • Basic fares can’t be changed for a lower price, so Tuur doesn’t alert on them.

Which tickets qualify

  • Main, EvenMore, BlueFirst and Mint: no change fee. The difference comes back as travel credit.
  • Flex fares (Main Flex, EvenMore Flex, BlueFirst Flex, Mint Flex): no change fee, and they can be cancelled for a full refund to your card.
  • Base fares: $150 per person to change, on every route and even with Mosaic status, so only for a bigger drop.
  • Tickets bought on or before July 29, 2026: Blue, Blue Plus and Blue Extra have no change fee. Blue Basic can’t be changed.
  • Changing online is free. By phone or chat, JetBlue charges $25 per person; Mosaic members and a few others don’t pay it.
